Here’s how we work, so you know what you’re getting when you watch or read Exploded View.
How we test
We use every product ourselves, in our studios in the US and the Netherlands and in our daily lives as much as we can. A first impression comes after at least a day with a product, a review after at least a week, and usually longer. A hands-on at a show like CES, IFA or AWE is a first impression, and we call it that.
Where the products come from
We buy some products ourselves, and brands send us many others. Sometimes we get to keep them, sometimes they go back. Either way, we tell you.
Sponsorships
We partner with brands on sponsored videos, and our editorial independence is part of every agreement. A brand may share product information and specifications, and may review our script for factual accuracy. Our opinions, conclusions and recommendations are always our own: we don’t accept review guidelines or give anyone approval over our verdict, and we decline partnerships that ask for it. Sponsored videos are always clearly marked.

How we use AI
We write every video script ourselves, based on our own testing and results. AI helps us refine things, and on this website it helps turn our videos into written articles. It never adds opinions, test results or numbers, and we check every article before it’s published.
