I’ve been looking for one controller that works across every device I own for about nine years. This 249 dollar smart ring might be the closest anyone has come.

In this video, we test the KiWear smart ring across smart glasses, a VR headset, a TV, a laptop, an e-reader and two phones.
It’s a 5 gram ceramic ring with an IMU motion sensor inside, so it reads finger gestures without a camera and without a wristband.
We look at gesture reliability, which devices actually accept it, and the health tracking. Then whether it’s worth backing on day one of the campaign.
This video was not sponsored. KiWear sponsored a separate Short about this product and provided the ring and an Android phone for testing. No review direction was given. Our opinions are our own.
