VRDays has some exciting VR peripherals that we can check out, like the Teslasuit and the Manus VR gloves. There will be a lot of other companies there too so we will try and get as much as possible on the vlog to inform you. In this video an interview is also included with festival director of VRDays: Benjamin de Wit, where we talk about his point of view of the VR industry as someone who knows and speaks with a lot of innovative VR companies.
Here’s some information on the upcoming VRDays:
Established in 2015, VR Days Europe is the leading European event for the creative and business communities around Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (XR). Over 2,000 professionals are expected to attend this year’s festival, where they will experience a compelling range of keynotes, sessions, workshops and seminars with over 140 thought leaders and experts drawn from the health, technology, business and arts sectors. There is also a substantial exhibition featuring over 100 companies.
Held once again in Amsterdam, the 2018 event runs from Wednesday 24 to Friday 26 October. The first day sees the Vision & Impact Conference take place at the DeLaMar Theatre. There is a rich mixture of speakers, including XR technology practitioners as well as ground-breaking creatives and technology developers. They include:
– David Helgason, the founder of leading cross-platform game engine Unity;
– Morgan Mercer, founder of Vantage Point, which has created a VR-based toolset for anti-sexual harassment training;
– Mel Slater from the Universitat de Barcelona, a pioneer in VR and virtual embodiment; and
– Jaroslav Beck, co-founder and CEO of Beat Saber, one of the most viral games in VR history.
For the second and third days, VR Days Europe moves to the Kromhouthal. Taking place here, in addition to a busy exhibition, will be a very full programme of summits, panel sessions, VR project showcases, technology ‘deep dives’, investor events, a Creators’ Lab and more. The main emphasis is on three vertical sectors that are driving technological innovation and creative business solutions: media, arts and entertainment; healthcare; and enterprise.
Whether your interest in XR is related to technology, content production, applications or investment opportunities, you will find plenty to entertain, inform and excite you at VR Days Europe.
